Summer Senses

I am so delighted to still hear the evening crickets–they start in August and hang in there until, well, perhaps the first evening frost.  I am grateful for their music, as well as I am grateful for so much of the sounds, tastes, and the feeling of summer.  I hate to see it go.  So, I thought I would share with you this short story that was the result of a prompt given to us in our writing class.  The prompt was,

Write a story about a season of the year and include

1.) all five senses and

2.) metaphors

I hope you enjoy it.  May you enjoy the senses of all seasons!
